The Virginia Alliance for Secure Computing and Networking (VASCAN) exists for the purpose of strengthening information technology security programs within the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Information Resources
VASCAN strives to provide forums for information exchange and to support similar efforts by others. The use of discussion boards and alerts are available to exchange and inform others of new innovations and concerns.

Training Opportunities
VASCAN offers several forms of training services. These materials and services were prepared by experienced security practitioners from George Mason University, James Madison University, the University of Virginia, Virginia Tech, and Virginia Commonwealth University, and may be used by others to conduct user and technical training in their own organizations.

Consulting Options
VASCAN offers three forms of consulting services; these services include on-site consulting, available security expert to answer questions, and an IT auditor on hand to assist in consulting. Access to these services is currently limited to Virginia higher education institutions.
